Non-GMO

NON-OGMFarming itself is an activity in which humans interact with ecosystems and many coltivations today are the result of crosses aimed at concentrating the positive characteristics of different varieties.
To do this it is necessary that the plants that are crossed are compatible, otherwise come into play the natural barriers that prevent – in most cases – fertilization between individuals of different species.
On the contrary, GMO are the result of artificial recombination of genetic material obtained through the inclusion of DNA from a donor organism in a host organism, which in nature could never share the hereditary material.
An example: the inclusion of the characteristic of restistance to cold induced in strawberries by the inclusion of the DNA sequence, which determines a greater tolerance to low temperatures in Artic fish, would have never been possible with the techniques of intersection used in agricolture so far.

For this reason Gheda Petfood does not support the free use of genetically modified organismsand respect the regulations and the limitations imposed on “non-GMO”.

no-testGheda Petfood does not perform animal testing and no tests are carried out or ordered for the finished products after the “cut-off date”.Therefore the products and all the activities carried out by Gheda Petfood do not harm, cause suffering or kill animals.
